The High Park Zoo is a popular year-round destination that has been a highlight for visitors to High Park since 1893. The Zoo is free to the public and attracts over 500,000 visitors each year.
The Zoo's domestic and exotic animals offer both enjoyment and educational opportunities for people of all ages. The Zoo's 50 animal residents include bison, llamas, peacocks, reindeer, highland cattle, sheep, yaks, emus and ducks.
City Council removed High Park Zoo from its operating budget on June 30, 2012. The Friends of High Park Zoo with the help of Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation raised $342,000 to cover the cost to keep the Zoo open until December 31, 2013 when the City returned the Zoo to the operating budget.
Your generous donation to the Zoo through the charitable Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation will help support capital projects for the Zoo, a valuable public attraction.
Your donation will help enhance the Zoo for families and children to enjoy!
